Adventures in Queen City
The Collision Incident
If there has been one event that defines Queen City and its place in the future, it is the Collision Incident. The result of a a faulty supercollider run at Mountain State University, the Collision Event has become a beacon for superpowered activity, both benevolent and malign.
In the early morning hours of January 6, 2014, the sky over the Auraria District of Queen City exploded as the air itself caught fire. A tear in space and time ripped through the atmosphere, unleashing a thunderous roar which some claim sounded almost sentient. As soon as the tear opened, it collapsed upon itself, leveling buildings on the MSU campus and sending the recording equipment that MSU scientists had set up all over the city into redline.
The effects of the enormous amount of unknown radiation and energy on the surrounding area and on the residents of Queen City are unknown. Changes are evident, however, as Queen City now has become the center for unexplained phenomena. Some scientists theorize that something could have slipped through the tear in reality. Only time will tell what the true ramifications are for Queen City and its denizens.
